The Brawl

Or

Yasinth's First Flight

Or

Late Night in the Bowl

Let's get ready to rummmmmmmmmmmmmmmble! Alright we have A'lex in this corner and Aurian in this one. It’s the kind of mess that only Telgar is known for. Personally I blame that Yasinth and A'ser.

Aurian leans towards her gold firelizard. Something is going on there.

Erdrick yawns.

A'ser shakes his head a little sadly. "Most anyone would not have slipped on a little ice in thier weyr, sir. I mean, being old is nothing to be ashamed of."

Kassima walks here from the Inner Cavern.

Pierron humphs thoughtfully as the Wingleader of Thunderbolt arrives.

A'lex blinkblinks, "I'm not old... Xach was napping, the glowbaskets were dimmed... I fell..."

Lelin winks *between*.

Kvasith> Yasinth shifts her restless shoulders, edging away from a blue who stands too close.

Erdrick grins ta Halam, "K'velin's got me buried in hides night and day." He gestures to the pile of record hides in front of him and yawns.

Kassima pauses on her way past A'lex to pat his shoulder kindly. "Go on and

keep thinking that, senile one. Are there any sourdough rolls about?"

A'ser's heard that song and dance before. He bends forward, stuffing a meatroll in his mouth, and muffles out rudely, "Only one, Kassi-ma'am.....hurry or I'll snatch it up." He means it too.

A'lex looks at Kassima, "Rest assured, if I find one before you, you won't like what I do with it."

Kvasith> Lelin chirrups happily. She starts pushing her head against a lump of snow making a small ball and it slowly grows a larger size.

Kassima doesn't precisely hurry, but she does manage to snatch up said roll and weighs it thoughtfully in her hand. "Whom to throw it at? The ma'amer or the threatener? Both clearly deserve it... and nay, 'Lex, I wouldn't, since I intend to eat it, and I'd never contaminate m'self by eating aught *you'd* touched."

A'lex snorts, "You wouldn't have eaten it..."

A'ser glares at Kassima. He doesn't want anything thrown at him. Most likely, he'd find something to give back to her.

Aurian pops another wedge of fruit into her mouth.

Kvasith> Lelin chirrips and takes up the ball in her talons..

Kvasith> Lelin floats above for a brief moment, and then dissapears *between*.

Lelin appears suddenly from *between*, gliding she soon finds a place she considers appropriate to land.

Lelin swoops down towards A'ser.

"Right. Like I said, you'd have touched it, and that'd make it toxic." Kassi sinks her teeth into the roll, and, hands thus freed, picks up two plainer breadrolls to lob lightly at each member of the A-Team.

A'lex says "And where I would have put it would have made it worse."

Lelin swoops down towards A'ser. She squeals eagerly and drops a large ball of snow towards the greenrider's head.

Erdrick blinks toward A'lex, "I don't want to know."

A'lex watches the little firelizard comrad with a grin on his face.

A'ser blinks as a wad of snow smacks into his wet hair. He sits rather uncomfortably for a moment, letting slush slide, melt, it's way down the side of his face.

Buttons chirps flirtatiously at the little gold. Karin of course chirps jealously back, arching her neck a bit coyly.

Kassima manages, somehow, to make a rude face at A'lex around her mouthful of roll. Don't ask her how. Missives thus delivered, she flops into a chair to munch her pilfered bread in contented silence. Well, okay... silence broken by occasional, annoying 'mmm' noises.

Lelin chirrups her victory and swoops towards Aurian.

A'lex snares an LCG and asks, "Could you get him a towel before he gets sick, please?" The LCG complies, returning moments later with a towel for the Green Rider.

Kvasith> Yasinth stands up. Liquid silver oil on a green pond, she flows swiftly across the bowl, eyes whirling, bright, and intent.

A'ser huffs a little, the corner of his mouth twitching.

Kvasith> Yasinth lumbers north.

Kvasith> Nraith perks up and follows.

Kvasith> Yasinth lifts her talons, shaking the wherry free from her gorey toes.

Kassima slowly removes the roll from her mouth, giving A'ser and the nearest maleriders an inscrutable look. "Blooding, eh?"

Kvasith> Nraith swoops down upon an unsuspecting heardbeast, cracking it's spine with a swipe of his front forelimb. Lifting the still twitching caracas to his mouth, he rends the belly of the beast and burys his muzzle in it, drinking heartily.

A'lex stiffens, "Yup... there he goes."

A'ser continues to twitch. It has nothing to do with the snowball. ".....But that's so icky....." he complains softly.

Kvasith> Kvasith lands heavily on an aging herdbeast. The creature hasn't much of a chance to suffer. All but the sound of cracking bone and sinew. He is soon lapping the blood from the animal.

Aurian sighs, "Meant to be gone by now."

Kvasith> Yasinth ducks her head, jaws mauling across the back of her poor little victim, sucking, jerking it to the side viciously, as she drains it, tail lashing in great swoops.

A'lex turns to Aurian, "Yea... right, like that actually would have happened."

Aurian places her hands on her hips and GLARES at A'lex, "What is *supposed* to mean.."

A'ser protests, a little louder now, "I mean. Icky is icky, right? She shouldn't be doin' this sort of.....will you STOP arguing?!"

Kvasith> Nraith jerks his head around, burying his muzzle deeper in the beast. Steam rises out of the gory opening.

Erdrick smiles as Telin flies over and lands on his shoulder.

A'lex says "I mean, your lifemate wasn't about to give you any warning that this was coming..."

Kassima nods and, without further ado, sets off to gather wineskins. When she returns from Stores, it's with a full armload of the things. "Another eventful night," she comments, dumping them on a table near the entrance and beginning to set them up neatly.

Erdrick blinks as he looks up from his empty mug toward the riders.

Aurian sticks her tounge out at A'lex, "He would have!"

Kvasith> Yasinth slashes her tail to the side, making a blurry line of shadow over the snow. With a heavy, wet thump, her tail-tip crunches a runner's ribs, flattens it's side, spins it. Likea great, gruesome cat, the green follows her toy.

A'lex sticks his tongue right back out, "He didn't, did he? Or has he left without you?" Ohhh, the biting sarcasm, dragonlust rises early tonight.

A'ser continues to look around in flustered confusion, lower lip shivering. This is bloody well an unhappy mess.

Aurian tosses a wedge of redfruit at A'lex, "Oh bite me bronze boy."

R'val glances at A'ser, frowning.

Kvasith> The juice is near empty, and Nraith has been caught drinking from the bottle right out of the icebox. He upends the heardbeast to get every last drop.

Erdrick sighs quietly and goes over to the klah pot to get himself some more klah, or better yet, some wine if there's any in easy reach that Kassi's not already taken control of.

A'lex glares, "Remember you manners, BROWNRIDER..."

your even...

Kvasith> Kvasith rears up and pounces on a wherry. He snarls loudly as the avian screams its farewell.

"No, no," L'cher catcalls from the sidelines. "The proper response is 'You wish,' Wingleader!"

Aurian rolls her eyes, she bites another redfruit wedge.

A'lex flashes his glare on L'cher, "No, *YOU* wish." His silver eyes flare in the firelight.

Kvasith> Yasinth tosses her little, frail, used runner aside. Her shoulders hunch, her eyes whirl madly, and her talons dig into the ground as she launches herself heavenward.

Kvasith> Yasinth takes flight, using the thermals rising from the bowl to carry her aloft -- much to the relief of the wherries.

Kvasith> Nraith takes flight, using the thermals rising from the bowl to carry him aloft -- much to the relief of the wherries.

L'cher, ever L'cher, just grins insolently and gives Aurian a bawdy wink. "Yeah. I do wish."

Kvasith> Kvasith blinks, what already? as she rises.

A'ser screams in frustration, standing to his feet and clentching his fists. "Why doesn't anyone LISTEN to me?!"

A'ser walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Erdrick sits back down with a nearly empty wine skin, Benden of course, which he found and pours himself a drink in his Telgar Weyr mug, watching the riders warily.

Kassima tries to ignore her Wingrider, busy finding a 'skin amongst the pile that's fit for her own consumption. "Better get out there," she advises the maleriders calmly. "There'll be wine when the game's done."

With a roar to rock the very foundations of the weyr itself, Nraith launches himself skywayr after the glowing Green.

Kvasith> With a roar to rock the very foundations of the weyr itself, Nraith launches himself skywayr after the glowing Green.

A'lex walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Aurian looks at L'cher, "Even think about touching me and I'll rip your hands off and shove them down your throat before you can breathe."

You walk down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Southern Bowl(#396RJL$)

Towering above, the bowl wall rises in a curving three pointed arc as it shelters this southernmost point of Telgar Weyr's great cauldera. Sloping down to the north to a slight degree, the floor of the bowl channeled so that runoff might drain down to the lake beyond. There are several strategically placed evergreens that serve to baffle the biting mountain winds away from the southern entrance into the living Caverns. Drifts of snow and the heavy tracks of large dragon feet and bellies cross the expanse of the bowl. Rocks and crags are hung with the purest white. Northward, the center of the bowl spreads hugely, leading to the feeding pens, hatching grounds, weyrling barracks and the Telgar Weyr lake. The ground-level weyrs of the queenriders dot the mountain to the northwest. Use '+view queenriders' to view them. The bowl is quiet in the depth of night.

R'val comes out of the short tunnel from the living cavern.

Telgar-LC> R'val walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Kvasith> Yasinth beats back Nraith's roar with a slash of her wings, dipping, pausing, and then darting like a pretty frosted knife across the star-smattered winter sky. Her breath trails in hot puffs behind her.

Telgar-LC> Kassima throws a wineskin at the dumbfounded bluerider. "You should know better, Lach. Lucky thing for you that Leerth pulled a wing-muscle again."

A'ser nearly stamps his feet in a childish show of frustration. "Why doesn't she listen to me? Do you see me? Huh? Standing out here in the cold and she doesn't listen to a THING I say--"

A'lex mumbles, "Typical female..."

R'val frowns, "Probably because she's about to rise."

Vidarth lumbers north.

A'lex says "About? She's gone..."

R'val grins, "That too."

Kvasith> Vidarth rises up from the feeding grounds.

Aurian scowls at A'lex, "What is that supposed to mean?"

Kvasith> Vidarth snaps his wings with an audible /crack/ of sinew and muscle working along bone. He was late getting started, but he makes up the time (as quickly as he can, at any rate) barrelling upwards towards the green.

Telgar-LC> Erdrick looks over at Kassi, "Any bets on who'll catch her?" He doesn't bother to qualify that statement, figuring Kassi will know which 'her" he means.

A'lex scowls right back, "Exactly what it sounded like. Or do I need to use smaller words?"

Sisirye walks here from the north.

A'ser does something he's always wanted to. A hand catches A'lex's ear, jerking. And with the other, he smacks the back of the wingleader's head sharply. "I -asked0 you," he hisses through his teeth, "to stop arguing!"

Aurian walks right up to A'lex, "No I think you need to take them back." So what if she's a foot or so smaller.

A'lex is to busy being beaten by the Greenrider to even HEAR Aurian, "Of course, A'ser, my apologies." Ahhh, what we do for Wuv, True Wuv...

Telgar-LC> Kassima shakes her head, while pouring a splash of Red into a glass for herself. "Nay bets tonight. It could be Kvasith, it could be Nraith; I'm honestly nay certain which of the two."

Kvasith> Yasinth catches a frozen updraft, yashing her tail across the nose of a brown who thought he was fast, who got too close. None of that! She will have....none...of that!

Kvasith> Kvasith spreads his wings wide. His lean form stretching towards Yasinth as he pursues his glowing clutchmate.

Telgar-LC> Erdrick hmmms, "My money, were I a betting man, would be on Kvasith."

Kvasith> Vidarth hangs near the back of the group, above slightly, wings pounding the sky agilely, his streamlined blue form cutting through sky as he hangs behind Yasinth. She'll slow. And when she does, he'll pounce!

A'ser clasps his hands beneath his chin and gasps hopelessly, "What do I do, sir?? She won't listen!"

Kvasith> Nraith banks sharply to keep himself above the pack of chasing males. Yasinth is far ahead, but not out of reach, not yet... there's time.

A'lex sighs, "I think we best take this into the guest weyr, A'ser. Yasinth has risen and there's not a thing you can do about it."

R'val grunts, "A'ser, just go with it. It'll all be over soon. Hopefully."

Kvasith> Yasinth banks to the side, twining her body into a long, bright green circle, talons whisking over the rocky side of the bowl. A small, rocky cloud of dust runs over the rock after her.

Kvasith> Hyadeth races to keep up with the other males, powerful wings bringing him into range with Vidarth, though his steady pace soon edges him forward after the green.

A'ser snorts at R'val, glaring like murder. "I was GOING to do that, and who asked YOU?!"

A'ser moves down a short passage and past a curtain, moving out of sight as he enters the Guest Weyr.

Sisirye comes into the weyr from the bowl.

Kvasith> Nraith rounds over the bowl rim, keeping himself farther away from the edge than the Blues and Browns.... for this he looses a bit of time, but our Hero never falters, and continues to trek onwards after the lovley Yasinth...

Aurian drops onto the ground, leaning back against the wall. Her thumb rubbing her ring over and over and over again.

A'ser jams his shoulder against the wall and points an accusing finger at R'val. "You may stay outside."

Kvasith> Kvasith weaves his way through a small cluster. His dark form moving like a silent shadow. Agile movements are his mark as he swerves to avoid a blue but stays on path.

A'lex rolls in like thunder and positions himself against a wall in easy reach of the door.

Kvasith> Yasinth can only continue this hide-scraping skim for a short while. She rolls away from the rocky walls, wings beating again, her teeth showing, many splendored and mighty pointy, as she sucks in the cold air.

Sisirye settles herself in a corner...looking very quiet and very intense. Herdbeast could stampede through and she'd not even blink.

Kvasith> Vidarth follows Yasinth's course uneeringly, his wings tilting as he adjusts his movement to compensate for his roll, and heads for Yasinth with single-minded precision.

R'val glances at A'ser, his eyes dark, his hands clenched at his side.

Kvasith> Yasinth awaits you all with nasty big pointy teeth!! But Nraith doesn't seem to care, and chases afterwards anyway. She's too lovely to let some teeth scare him.

Kvasith> Slicing through the night air quickly, Kvasith is gaining speed and distance is closing as he moves. Moonligt glints over his amberbright wingsails as they pump and strain.

Kvasith> Yasinth can out fly any moon. And she means to, 'ere this thing is through. No shadow would dare her claim to it, and those idiot creatures trying to tame her below don't even seem to know it yet. Her eyes whirl a colour that doesn't have a name. Let's just label it 'meaness' for now, and leave it at that.

Aurian scowls at everyone in the room. Everyone.

A'ser takes the time to wrap, wrap, and rewrap his scarf around his throat. For security, you know.

Kvasith> The gold traces of lightning on Nraith's wingsails sparkle and seem to energise him as he chases after the glowing green. The moon she may out fly, the stars might even get left in her proverbial stardust, but he will chase her until the end of time-- or until he gets hungry, but hopefully she'll be caught by then.

Kvasith> Hyadeth climbs higher along the bowl walls, not quite as agile as the blues he but agile enough where a pretty green in concerned. Turning quickly, he folds his wings slightly in a bit of a dive, just to gain the speed he's lost...heading for that pretty green...so far out of reach...at the moment...

A'lex just rumbles in the corner, returning Aurian's glare with one of his own.

Kvasith> Kvasith whirls about as a brown comes too close to him. It takes him a few moments, to regain what he's lost as he rumbles his annoyance at the younger creature. Yasinth is there, he is most definitely not her.

Kvasith> Vidarth snaps his wings vigorously, propelling him along his course after Yasinth. He conserves his strength, flying with measured, cautious strokes. He refuses to overextend himself, saving his energy. Yasinth will tire. And when she does, he'll be there.

Aurian sticks her tounge out at A'lex as she rubs her ring with her thumb.

A'lex doesn't see the tongue, because by that time, he's staring at his Wingmate... funny, but he's got lovely eyes.

Kvasith> Yasinth cuts to the side suddenly, swiftly, still gaining on that tireless upward slope. She will tolerate no one to be near her, touch her perfect hide, not even some lumpish bronze. Furious that they follow her still, her tail lashes to and fro, taunting, and she flexes her talons, anxious to breech the heights of the sky.

Kvasith> Vidarth fixes his eyes on that lovely tail and follows it. Or rather, he follows the body it's attached to, climbing steadily but not too quickly upwards. Yasinth must fall eventually! He'll be ready. He flexes his claws, savouring the wait, his wings pounding the sky and carrying him upwards.

Kvasith> Kvasith can feel his hide pull against him as he makes that desperate turn to follow Yasinth. Glowing greens truely know how to pull g forces.

Kvasith> Nraith plunges on, as if transfixed by that glowing tail. Faster and faster, his wings pummel the air, pulling him along after her. Oh and how the sky does bleed from her minstrations... such a tender Green.

Kvasith> Yasinth is beginning to feel the burn of frigid air against her panting lungs, but you'll never hear her admit it. To the other side, then, she dips, snapping just over the lip of some other's ledge.

Kvasith> Hyadeth would bugle his frustration but in his pursuit he hardly wantes to waste the energy. ...up..down..sideways..why are they always so difficult! Wings beating furiously, he leaves a blue in his wake as he turns to climb once again, swirling eyes on that glowing green beauty.

Kvasith> Nraith keeps his distance from the bowl wall, and also maintains a bit of altitude in hopes that this young, supple, tender, luscious, really hot looking Green will, like her sisters both Green and Gold, rise once more before tiring.

A'lex starts breathing heavily, his heartbeat increasing sympathetically with his lifemates.

Kvasith> Kvasith stretches his wings to there fullest. The brown has no intention of losing this flight. He pulls them in tightly again to pick up some speed.

Kvasith> Yasinth plunges. Clever lady, she knows how to get her rest and beat you too. Leathal and flagging, she cleaves the flock of males in two, wings folded against her back, fall unchecked.

Kvasith> This little brown dragon was about to open his wings again, but as Kvasith watches Yasinth plunge he pulls his wings tighters and continues the pursuit.

A'ser presses his flushed cheek against the stone wall he leans against, lips parted and wide eyes wild, green, and very much not here. Well. Moreso then usual. You know.

Kvasith> Vidarth begins to exert more of his reserved strength as he begins to tire, his speed increasing. He feels a need for this to end, and pushes on valiently, determined to catch Yasinth when she tires. As she drops, he folds his wings, and drops after her.

Kvasith> Nraith trumpets in protest, wherefore does she go that way? She's not supposed to go THAT way!!! He folds his wings and plumets groundwards, a great Bronze meteor.

Kvasith> Hyadeth hears the green coming before he even sees her...the audacity...the brilliance! But he has a plan himself, swinging his brown bulk to the side he uses the momentum to barrel-roll into a dive. Following after the rest once again as they plummet.

Kvasith> Yasinth snaps her wings wide, great, huge silver-laced sails. Her fall swoops to a stop as she re-angles her body, and begins an upward re-slice through the flock. Only, this one is a little slower, a little less tricky. In great, snarling puffs comes her breath. She'll sharding get to the moon yet, and you can stick that 'wherefore' in your runner and smoke, so there!

Kvasith> Vidarth tilts his wings so that he's climbing again, pounding his wings against the sky as he struggles to climb after Yasinth, dogging after her trail persistently.

Kvasith> Kvasith finds himself suddenly above the small green, with all the cleverness of his kind, he reaches out with his talons to try and grab her so he can hopefully yank her against him. At least that's how it would work in theory.

Kvasith> Nraith unfurls his wing with a loud booming sound as he backwings, stoping himself midair. Of course only for a moment. He begins pounding the sky once more, trying to intercept the sassy green as she makes her way upwards once again. As she passes, he stretches his neck and tail and limbs, yes, even his very eyes seem to strain to capture her, to caress her, to touch her...

A'ser suddenly begins to chew on his fingers anxiously, angrily. And then he throws some VERY accusing looks around the room, edging away from someone who's stepped too close with a balled-up fist.

A'lex tenses, head snaping up again to stare at A'ser.

R'val crosses his arms over his chest, glaring at A'ser.

Aurian presses her head against her hands, not even caring anymore. Though if you ask her at the moment she feels she owes A'lex a punch or three.

Kvasith> Hyadeth's sides heave as he manuvers again, upward, steadily...so close he could touch her...if those others weren't in the way that is. Welp, only one thing for it, reaching down deep the brown shoots forward in his final efforts to beat out the competition and snag that green.

Kvasith> Yasinth turns a snarl to a confused creel. Her wings droop, her wedge-shaped head tilts, as she has just found out that her snugglebuddy is faster then she thought. Hello, Vidarth!

Telgar-LC> Canus walks in merrily until he hears about A'ser . "what happened?"

Telgar-LC> Kassima shakes her head. "Neither would I have. And now methinks 'twill take wine out to those left a'fore they kill each other." Scooping up a few wineskins, she calls in parting over her shoulder, "Yasinth rose. Vidarth caught her. Poor, poor A'ser."

"Will you both be quiet and drink?" Kassima asks the dueling duo calmly, proffering wineskins. "Lyss told me that you were shrill enough t'wake the dead, and I'm beginning t'believe her."

A'lex bristles, "MY fault? Have you been licking trundlebug arses again? How can it by MY fault?"

From afar, to A'lex and Aurian, Kassima has but one thing to say, 'Lex: "Ew."

From afar, to Aurian and Kassima, A'lex just grins.

Telgar-LC> Erdrick shrugs, "Wouldn't have expected him to win, he's an older rider then the some of the others involved."

Telgar-LC> Canus says "oh..."

Telgar-LC> Erdrick says "Glad I didn't bet money on it after all."

Halam walks north.

Sisirye seems rather ignorant of the entire situation..still searching for Hyadeth. "Oh, I hate it when he pouts!" Then she spins, the bowl suddenly a bit more populated.

Aurian applauds, "Ahh yes another example of Bronzerider brilliance. " It drips with sarcasm.

A'lex snorts, "What, that's the only lame comment you could come up with? Faranth, I used to give you more credit than that. Aparently I was mistaken."

Aurian is a bit addled yes. So her verbal tactics aren't what they would be. She grabs a wineskin from Kassima and hurls it at A'lex.

Kassima waits through a few more exchanges, then calmly sets down all but one of the 'skins, and breaks the seal of that one. "News for you, A-freaks. For some reason I don't understand at all at the moment, I like you both, and I'm nay about t'let you kill each other. So either drink or have the wine poured over your heads; take your pi--" That's when Auri snatches the 'skin away, and the open thing goes sailing, probably streaming wine along the way. "Ooookay. Over the head is fine by me."

A'lex snatches the wineskin out of the air like a dragon snaring a wherry flying by, only he doesn't gut it. "Tell me this isn't Benden, Kassima. Tell me she didn't throw Benden so I don't have to headbutt her for being STUPID."

"What can't you read the skin, you addlepated twit.." Aurian starts looking about for more things to throw.

Kassima looks rather distressed herself. "It was Benden. Benden White, a'course, but still... Benden. But can you just drink it rather than killing Auri first?"

Sisirye too focused on her dragon still...starts wandering off, Kassima obviously has a handle on things right? Well, seems so to her at the moment, then again throwing wineskins seems reasonable enough to her too.

Telgar-LC> Canus sits down in a chair and looks around at the caverns

A'lex says "Awww, screw it." He pops the top on the wineskin and blasts a stream right at Aurian, "Here's addlepated for ya you intollerable she-hound."

Sisirye walks north.

Canus comes out of the short tunnel from the living cavern.

Kassima yelps, "Hey! Hey! Don't waste the wine! Nay killing and nay wine-wasting! Don't you people know the bloody *rules*?"

Wine runs down Aurian's face and through her hair. She shrieks with rage, and reaches down to tug off her boot before she relizes its got laces. She instead grabs for another skin of wine from Kassima's pile. Benden red, good pressing too. She pops the seam and squirts it at A'lex.

Canus looks around the bowl for a familiar face

A'lex barks, "Rules are null and void in the face of STUPI--- ARRRRGHHHH!!! That's the RED!!" He dives for Aurian, intent on maiming at least.

Kassima doesn't just yelp, now, she *shrieks*, "That's *Red* you're wasting, you bugger-arsed excuse for a wher-spawned lackwit! Give me that 'skin!" She leaps for the wine about the same time A'lex leaps for the brownrider. The results ought to be interesting.

Aurian erks as she finds herself caught by A'lex. She continues to squirt the bronzerider and heck Kassima too now. The legs are flailing as the snow and muck get tossed up as well

A'lex sputter, "Sharding... fardling... slackwitted... stupid... ARRRRGHHH! Watch the groin! No fair hitting the soft spots! Play nice!" He starts laughing.

Kassima is caught between the instinct that prompts her to open her mouth and save the poor, helpless, wasted wine by drinking it, and the instinct that prompts her to save the poor, helpless, wasted wine by prying it from Aurian's fingers. For now, though, she'd be content not to be in the middle of a pummelfest. "Give me the 'skin! Give me the 'skin!" she chants, trying to snatch the thing from Aurian's grasp and kick A'lex away at the same time. "Ack! I didn't *mean* to, 'Lex, but there's *wine*, and she... Auri, don't you waste any more of that Red, shardit!"

Above, Luci flies over from the north end of the bowl.

A'lex says "Pin the wench down! She's gone lustcrazed!"

Aurian yells as she squeezes the skin, "I'll squeeze what I want you pair of knockkneed, hagheaded wherry-faced lumpheads..." She does continue to squeeze one handed as she reaches back to knock A'lex a good one on the jaw.

Luci backwings for a landing.

A'lex's head jerks round right and good, "Awww! Bitc--" His swear is interrupted as he headbutts the Brownrider. "Eat that you imbicilic... freak!"

Canus is torn between watching the dragon or the group of adults fighting over the wine.

Kassima struggles to try and pin Aurian, as directed. She'll listen even to a brownrider when *wine* is at stake. "Will you stop trying t'kill each other and just drink the bloody wine, you scrapings of Faranth's rotted ovaries!" she roars, though whether with anger or laughter is rather hard to say.

Err, bronzerider. She'll listen to a bronzerider.

Well that sets the wine free as she gasps for air, with a deep breath she regains herself, Aurian instead focuses on tearing out A'lex's hair, "Freak! I'll show you freak! Just wait till I yank out all your hair.. you'll look like Kiat's dilapitated twin!"

Canus walks beneath the lintel and disappears into the living cavern.

A'lex bristles again, "Don't you make fun of my Weyrlea--- ahhhh!" Apparently she's hit a soft spot of the mental kind. He goes for the throat, Kassi in the way or not...

Kassima, now reassured by the safety of the wine, turns towards the important task of trying to keep Aurian and A'lex from killing each other. "Nay anyone is going t'be pulling out hair!" she yells, trying to keep them apart. "You'll discuss this like civilized, rational adulaaaaaack!" That would be her reaction to being in the way of A'lex's pursuit of Aurian. "Now I know how R'ehn felt!" she yelps.

Soft spots bedamned as Aurian flails her legs harder, "He ain't the weyrleader

no more!" She does manage to catch her nails against his cheek as she jerks around. Faranth, everything's flailing.

A'lex brings a knee up into Aurian's side, "Char you and that upstart motherless son of a wher!"

Kassima, caught helplessly between, is getting the pummeling of her life. But

at least it's giving her good training in wrestling. "Knock it *off*!" she shouts, pushing *away* from Aurian in hopes that A'lex, the top half of this sad rider sandwich, will be forcibly separated from the brownrider too.

An old auntie hovers by the Living Cavern entrance. "Dear me," she murmurs. "Dear me. I never thought that greenrider was into these sorts of games. Oh, my

goodness gracious."

Aurian chokes and rasps out, "I don't have the equipment for that one, you half

numbwitted dimglow!" She manages to punch in the stomach almost viciously. How

ever with Kassima's involvment it was inevitable that the braid would gag her a

couple times

A'lex is set off balance by Kassi's thrusting, "Uhhhhhgh!" is all he can say as

he falls, exhausted, to the snowy ground.

Kassima, of course, falls on poor 'Lex. There's no rest for the wicked. "Sure you don't want some of that wine now?" she asks the bronzerider and brownrider wearily, trying to sit up.

A'lex grits his teeth, "Just hold her there so I can finish the job."

Aurian staggers to a standing position, "You and your wing couldn't do that..." She blows a curl out of her eyes.

Kassima thinks better of trying to get up. It would be much safer to keep the bronzerider pinned. Let's just hope Auri has calmed down somewhat and won't now tackle A'lex and get her squished in the middle again. "Naught doing," she replies stubbornly. "Tas would kill you if'n you killed his Wingrider, and they'd probably dissolve Skyfire and give all your ?iders t'me, and while I'd love t'have Mart under m'torturing power, I really don't have time for all the hidework the change would entail."

Telgar-LC> Erdrick slips quietly out to see what's going on, grabbing a couple skins of wine in case they're needed.

A'lex pulls himself up, dumping the petite Greenrider in the snow, "No, we couldn't, cause your Weyrmate" he says with a snarl "would probably demote me for it..." He tries to dust himself off... yea, right.

Erdrick comes out of the short tunnel from the living cavern.

Erdrick walks out of the LC cautiously, a carrying a couple of wine skins.

Dragon> Nraith bespoke Kvasith with << They get so worked up over nothing... sheesh. >>

Aurian grips her side, just relizeing that it aches like a tunnlesnake, "Coward. Can't finish what you started.."

Petite? Kassi? Well, okay, so she's actually pretty lightweight when you get right down to it. Skin and bones. But nevertheless, she glares at A'lex upon being dumped into the snow. "Don't I get enough of this from m'dragon? Faranth's fecund fibula! Just sit down and drink the bloody wine and laugh your fool heads off until you fall unconscious somewhere that I can find you and dress you up as women, shardit!"

Kvasith> I bespoke Nraith with << Sleep. Sleep is what I always reccomend. >>

Erdrick looks around, then hears Aurian and blinks, looking then toward Kassi.

Lysseth would probably come to Kassi's defense, but for some reason--Faranth only knows why--she's too busy rumblesnickering her own fool head off.

A'lex cocks his fist back, then thinks better of it, "If you want to finish this right, then call me out. Right here, right now. Then we'll make the duel formal so neither of us gets punnished for it."

Nraith sighs, when will they quit?

Erdrick blinks and mutters, mostly to himself, "What's going on now?"

Kassima gets to her own feet, a bit unsteadily. She's not exactly much the better for wear herself. "Nay duel to the death," she grates. "I won't stand for that from either of you. Know it now. And nay duel to the serious injury, either, or d'your dragons and duty mean so much less t'you than pummelling each other?"

"I would..." But the brownrider falls to her knees, "But I seem to be in a bit of pain..anyone have some numbweed so I can go back to throttling him.."

Sisirye walks here from the north.

Erdrick looks toward Aurian and says quietly, "All I have is wine, but it's Benden..."

A'lex reaches up and touches a hand, trying to figure out what's running down his cheek. Oh, just blood. "Shardit... lets get her into the infirmary. I hope I didn't break any ribs... Tas will flay me alive... Bring the wine Erdrick."

Erdrick nods and prepares to follow A'lex and offers Aurian a hand up and shoulder to learn on if she needs it.

Kassima nods curtly to A'lex. "Indeed. And you should have that cut on your face seen to." She, it might be noted, sports the beginnings of what's going to be one spectacular shiner. Someone's punch must've flown wide. "Auri, d'you need t'be carried?"

Sisirye walks north.

Aurian keeps her hands on her ribs, "Walking seems like a bad idea." She winces hard.

A'lex takes the wineskins from Erdrick, "You help, she probably won't want me carrying her."

Erdrick looks from Aurian to A'lex and Kassi, "Alright." He lets A'lex have the skins and gently picks Aurian up, trying not to hurt her.

Aurian makes a whimper, "Kassima .. Ushu's not on duty is he?"

Kassima starts to move to pick Aurian up herself, but nods, once again curt, when Erdrick does so instead. "Go gently, or Tas will flay you, too," she warns Erdrick. "And nay, I don't think so. At least, he's nay the *only* one."

Erdrick gently carries Aurian to the infirmary.

Erdrick moves beneath the rocky overhang that protects the Infirmary entrance.

You go beneath the rocky overhang that protects the Infirmary entrance.

Outer Infirmary(#389RL$)

The large cavern appropriated for this room needed little embellishing. Large enough to house those few dragons who might be too injured to treat outside in the bustle of after-Fall or some other rare accident, it has two stone couches at one end, with permanent alcoves carved into the walls near them, ready to serve as beds for riders. No instrument tables or supplies are set near the couches, healers having learned the hard way how injured dragons sometimes thrash. One closed cabinet close-to and shielded by a screen holds the thin reeds for wing tears, and other surgery supplies. A row of cupboards and counters hold the other healing necessaries. A basin and a large fireplace lie in the room's center. Business goes on as calmly as it ever does in an infirmary. Drudges and weyrchildren with assigned chores move in and out through the passageways, keeping the fire stoked and warm, and attending to the cleanliness of the area.

A carved outcropping curves out towards the bowl, while a similar doorway, shielded by thick tapestry, leads towards the inner infirmary. A long tunnel leads towards the inner cavern, thick enough to shield the noise.

Inner Infirmary

This silent sanctum is where the long-term patients (those coming in with more than a stomach-ache from the wrong tunnelsnake) have their cots. The more picky of the weyr residents prefer to lie in here, even if it is not for more than a day, simply because it is so peaceful. The walls here are gently curved, and covered in tapestries of muted colors. Storage lies in the far Corner. The ever present counter with accompanying herbal cabinets follows the line of the room halfway-round the circle. Cots are stacked by the wall, with only a few out at one time, it not being Fall. Three of those out are shielded by light fabric in Telgar colors.

A carved entrance, shielded by a thick tapestry, closes off this section of the infirmary from the outer, noisier parts of the weyr.

Erdrick lays Aurian down on a cot as gently as he can. "How're you feeling?" He asks her.

Aurian tries to laugh but it comes out in a pain ridden hiss.., "Broken."

From afar, to Aurian and Kassima, A'lex laughs. Don't be too damaged!!! M'hryn

will kill me! (Although I could take him in a fight!)

Erdrick hands her a skin of wine gotten from the now NPC'd A'lex for lack of any better idea, "Just try not to think about it, how was the flight?"

You paged Kassima with 'I figure a couple cracked ribs is appropriate, large knee to Aurian's rather delicate ribs. You should have a big old bruise on your jaw as well as the cut on your cheek A'lex'.

Long distance to Kassima: Aurian poohs as A'lex bamfs

Kassima emerges from behind the tapestry leading to the outer infirmary.

Aurian keeps her hand on her side till a healer comes to cut the sweater off the girl.

Erdrick looks toward Kassi with an inaudible sigh of relief, feeling a bit out of his depth.

Aurian closes her eyes, "It was a flight."

"All right, all right, I'll get some ice, you nardling wherry-head," Kassima grouches on her most unwilling way into the room. The eye that's not rapidly puffing up surveys said room warily; she's always hated infirmaries. "There *is* ice in here somewhere, isn't there? Auri, you look like you could use some, too. Or use *something*."

The healer runs his hand along the already purpling ribs, he hmmms, "Let me know if this hurts..."

Aurian yelps loudly!

Erdrick visably winces at Aurian's yelp, "I'd say that hurt."

Ushu has been in the back ground complaining about violence in the world, then he spots Kassima, "Wingleader! My dear wingleader, how is your morning sickness.. I have the usual rose petal brew for you!"

"Probably a safe assumption," Kassi agrees, holding a cloth bundle filled with ice to her eye. The horror in the uncovered portion of her expression when she sees Ushu is total. "Ushu, I am *nay pregnant*!" she insists, with just a hint of a squeak.

The journeyman who is examining Aurian's ribs, glances towards Ushu and mutters something about a cracked pot. He steps away for a moment collecting some things.

Erdrick pats Aurian's head, a bit awkwardly, "The healers'll fix you up Aurian."

"Oh of course you are, don't play the coy innocent with me.." Ushu hands Kassima a small cloth parcel, "You know.. mayhap you'll have twins this time. Twins are rather nice I've never delivered twins."

Aurian raises an eyebrow at the patting.

Journeyman Norcalen returns and immediately smears cooling numbweed along and

over the massive bruise on the redhead’s side.

Kassima barely manages to keep her voice neutral rather than snarling. "Ushu, again, I'm *nay* pregnant. And you'll never see any twins from me. You're a Healer, for Faranth's sake; you know fully well that celibate women don't spawn. All right? All right." With a wince, she shifts the cold-pack on her eye, muttering something about eviscerating bronzeriders.

Erdrick notes the eyebrow raise at was meant as a reassuring gesture, obviously he's not really sure what he's doing, but at least she doesn't seem to be thinking about the pain. He glances toward where the J-man healer went.

Aurian closes her eyes as the numbweed takes effect.

Norcalen begins to bind her ribcage, "This is going to be a lot of pressure. I have to pull it tight." As he speaks he pulls the guaze bands tight and pins them snuggly against her.

Aurian squeaks and glances to Kassima as the healer finishes up, "Uh Kassima.. could you get me a sweater... I can't go anywhere with out one..."

Erdrick blinks and blushes a little bit, standing to one side.

Kassima nods agreeably. "Surely could--or would m'jacket do? Methinks I can survive a trip to m'weyr without it."

Ushu winks knowingly at Kassima, "Alright. *Mum's*," he chortles at his pun,

"the word."

Aurian eyes the jacket and shakes her head, "Noo thanks. A sweater please or even just a shirt that buttons down the front. Pulling things over my head isn't a good idea."

Kassima gives a truly heartfelt groan. "I have two children, and I'm nay having any more any time soon!" she doesn't--quite--yell. With a glance down at her jacket, which certainly fastens down the front since it'd be implausible to pull a jacket over your head, she just shrugs philisophically and nods. "Certes, if'n you like. I don't have any; mind if'n I raid your weyr?"

Aurian leans her head back, "Feel free."

Erdrick says to Aurian conversationally, "Well, guess you won't be able to go swimming for a while. What happened?"

Aurian rolls her eyes, "A'lex and a couple wine skins."

Erdrick hmmms, he lowers his voice, "Well, at least it wasn't Kassi and her knives."

Kassima obediantly wanders out after a sweater, returning in fairly short order with one that is indeed Aurian's own. "And a greenflight," she adds helpfully. "Strange things happen in flights, but I can honestly say this is the first brawl I've been in."

Aurian rolls her eyes, "Knives are better than blunt force blows."

Erdrick glances at Kassi and her covered eye, "Don't suppose this'll be one flight you'll forget soon."

Aurian leans up slowly, she oofs, "Y' know Kassima. A piece of raw bovine is better for that."

Kassima removes the eye covering long enough to favor Erdrick with a droll look, made all the more striking by the fact that one of the eyes is surrounded by a puffy ring of black-purple skin. "Nay until this fades, anyway. I can't use raw meat; the 'lizards would screech at me nay end... this'll just have t'do."

Erdrick offers Aurian his own, unqualified, medical advice, "You probably should take it easy for a while Aurian." while standing just out of arms reach.

Aurian wriggles into her sweater, wincing the whole time, "Fun. I could use something to eat." The ex-healer refrains from saying anything offensive to Erdrick.

Erdrick blinks, "I probably should get some food too, think I skipped dinner."

Kassima admits, "Food would be good, but I don't feel like eating one-handed, so 'twill be out. I can't imagine how you could want to eat, Auri."

Aurian slides off the table, "Easy M'hryn's not around and I don't feel like redfruit.":

Erdrick glances at Aurian, "Need any help?" he asks.

Aurian shakes her head, "Numbweed's done its job."

Kassima shakes her head in amazement. "Ah, the recovering ability off the human spirit... well, Auri, you go get food, I'll go get sleep, and we'll both be better off, eh?"

Erdrick nods, "Then I guess I'll go get something to eat."

Nah, the recovering ability of the malerider, "Sleep well Kassima." Aurian

grins a little.

Erdrick nods at Kassi, "Night Kassi."

Kassima pushes the tapestry aside and enters the outer infirmary.

Erdrick gives a bit of a nod toward the healers and slips out.

Inner Cavern(#1272RJL$)

This huge cavern lies within the bowels of Telgar Weyr. The ceiling above, somewhat darkened, seems to be black in the dim light of the glows. Under this blackness, it's almost a hive. A large part of this cavern is a place where the lower cavern work is done: washing, making, remaking - endless chatter and noise concentrated around islands of bright glowlight. People come and go from several tunnels to the east and west, adding to general movement. There are several more secluded places with a table and few chairs, used by more idle folk for gaming or chat.In the northern part of the cavern, a small opening in the dark seems to be

overlooked by everyone, and quite unused. From here there is a large entrance into the Living Cavern, the center of activity of the Weyr. There are also smaller entrances leading off into the staff quarters, the tunnel to the springs, and candidate barracks, and a corridor leading deeper into the Weyr.

Several corridors also lead to quarters, the tunnel to the springs, for the

This huge cavern is sufficently roomy to hold a large portion of the Weyr's population without feeling cramped. There's always a bustle of activity here. Fragrant dishes are constantly in prepartion for mealtimes: currently for the late meal. Drudges are always present, either cleaning under Pierron's watchful eye, or helping fetch and carry. A myriad of glowbaskets and many ever-lit hearths make the cavern warm and inviting despite its size. The scents of cooking meats, baking breads and pastries, and the pungent aroma of spices hang mouthwateringly in the air. It is little wonder that those seeking to relax nearly always find their way here to do it. Branches of evergreens and glistening winter berries are ornaments of the season.

A short tunnel jaunts northward out to the bowl and the merry sounds of cooking, chores, and laughter echo from the kitchen at the southeast end of the cavern near the easterly passage to the rest of the lower caverns. Within the lower caverns is an entrance to the infirmary weyr to care for injured dragons and riders.
